Dear FHES Community,
It is with a very heavy heart I share that Deka Nur, Special Education assistant, passed away late Friday night. Deka suffered a brain aneurism last week and was unable to recover. She supported our Intellectual Disability program here at FHES for the last four years. Even if you only met Deka once, you knew how compassionate and kind she was. She kept an infectious smile on her face each and every day. I know I am a better person just from time spent in her presence.
Deka is survived by her husband and seven children. Her sister, Yasmine Nur, is our cafeteria hostess. As we learn more about how we can support the family, I will share with the community. Services occurred this past Saturday and several FHES staff were able to attend.
If your child is in need of any support, please don't hesitate to contact the school. We have the resources available to us and are ready to respond.
Thank you for keeping her family in your thoughts.
Knowing Deka, I feel she would want us to be reminded of the fragile nature of life and to live each day to the fullest.
Yours in grief,
Scott
