Let’s rise to the challenge! Poe Middle School will be hosting our own book fair from

December 10 -19.

Books make perfect gifts!

Students can buy books during their lunch periods

Families can buy books before the PTSA, Band and Orchestra Concerts on the following dates:

12/10/18 – 4:45 to 5:45 pm

12/11/18 – 4:45 to 6:45 pm

12/12/18 – 4:45 to 6:45 pm

12/17/18 – 4:45 to 6:45 pm

12/19/18 – 4:45 to 6:45

Together we can raise a community of readers at Poe Middle School

The Book Fair will take place in the PMS Library

Concert Season at Poe

Our winter concert season is here!  Please join us for several performances by our students during these next two weeks.  All concerts start at 7pm.  Come early to purchase dinner from our PTSA or shop at our Book Fair!

 

This week there will be band concerts on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.  Please note that students who are performing in or attending these concerts cannot remain at school between 4:45-6:00pm unless a parent/guardian is with them.


Spirit Week - December 17-21 

Monday—Wintry Pajama Day  (dress in your favorite warm and fuzzy pjs)

Tuesday—Colors of the holiday  (celebrate your favorite winter holiday by dressing in the colors of that holiday)

Wednesday—Workout Wednesday (get your exercise on!)

Thursday—I’m a Gift Day (Decorate yourself as a present— holiday themes, wrapping paper, ribbon, or bows)

Friday—Tacky sweater day  (Rock your most tacky sweater for our last day of school before break)

Spirit Week

After-School Program News

The After-School Program and National Junior Honor Society will be hosting a Winter Dance this Thursday, December 13th!  The dance will take place during the 2nd block of the After-School Program and late buses will be provided as usual at 4:45pm.  Tickets will be sold before school and in lunches on Tuesday and Wednesday for $5.  Other After-School Program activities that are normally held from 3:15-4:45 will be cancelled that day, except for Asian American LEAD.  Students that are not attending the dance must go home at 2:15 or be picked up in the office at 3:15.

This week's ASP Student of the Week is Phil Aunguyen!  He was nominated for his work on strategies to continue improving our school recycling program.  Great job, Phil!
