December 14th Early Release

A reminder that students will be released three hours early on Friday, December 14th. Students will be dismissed at 12:45.

Community Service Project

The Counseling office and the Innovation Space are collaborating on a 4th grade service project and would appreciate some help. As a way of teaching the 4th grade students about empathy and kindness, Mrs. Robinson polled the 4th graders to ask them what kind of service project they wanted to do—helping animals was the overwhelming choice. Therefore, we have identified Hart Animal Rescue Team and Fancy Cats Animal Rescue as the recipients of homemade dog and cat toys made by our 4th graders in the Innovation Space starting November 19th and wrapping up December 18th.

Ms. Reidenbaugh and Ms. Robinson would love for you to look to see if you have any rope, cord or yarn, old tee shirts or other material, cardboard paper towel tubes, TP cardboard tubes, or cardboard boxes to donate to the cause. We are staying away from metal/aluminum and plastic because, if chewed up, it could hazardous to dogs and cats. Please feel free to send in items with your child or drop them off to the box in the main office.

Thank you for your support!

POSITIVITY PROJECT

Humility:

Developing humility is associated with positive developmental outcomes in individuals. It allows a person to honestly reflect on their abilities and acknowledge how and where they can improve. Humility opens them up to new ideas, advice, and (consequently) abilities that pride, arrogance, or pretentiousness often block. Therefore, humility makes them desired members of a team. Humility, then, is vital to team, community, and societal achievement. Humble groups, composed of humble people, do what’s necessary without making a big deal of it; always remaining focused on what’s next.
