Cameron Library is having the annual Scholastic Book Fair from December 4th – December 10th. Please see the above schedule for the dates and times.

Our Scholastic Book Fair will have a wonderful selection of affordable books for every reading level. This will be the perfect opportunity for children to choose books they will read and want to add to their personal collection at home.

If you would like to volunteer with setting up the fair, helping students preview or shop for the fair, or serve as a guest reader for Family Night, please contact Ms. Lanier, our librarian, as soon as possible at allanier@fcps.edu or call 703-329-2116.

Once again, thank you for your support and see you at the book fair!

Kids' Clothes Don’t Fit???

With the wet and muddy playground this year, we are running low on girls' leggings and boys' sweatpants in our clothing closet.

If you are cleaning out those clothes that don’t fit anymore, consider sending in those stretchy pants for Ms. Diaz in the clothing center.

All children’s sizes are welcome.  (We’ll even take those stretchy shorts for when Spring rolls around!)

Thank you!

Mindfulness for Children: Evidence-Based Practices to Use at Home

The use of yoga and mindfulness in schools is on the rise and it’s no wonder why. These evidenced-based practices are the perfect tool to support your children in developing strong social-emotional development and improving behavior and academic performance. Participants will learn the basics and benefits of yoga and mindfulness and will walk away with practical and creative ways to encourage the use of these holistic practices at home.

Friday, December 7, 2018, 10 a.m.-noon

Make Plans for Inclement Weather

PLEASE DO NOT PHONE THE SCHOOL!!!

When Fairfax County Public Schools have a schedule change (closing or delay) due to inclement weather or other emergencies, the information is communicated as soon as the decision is made in these ways:

  1. Posted on fcps.edu.
  2. Posted to the FCPS Twitter and Facebook
  3. Email and text messages sent to parents and employees.
  4. Email sent to News You Choose subscribers of Delayed Openings and School Closings.
  5. Posted on FCPS cable Channel 21 (Cox Communications, Reston Comcast, and Verizon cable customers only).
  6. Area radio and television stations.
  7. REMEMBER, Cameron is a Fairfax County Public School.

Parents are urged to make arrangements now for the care of their children when schedule changes are made (and to provide for the rare situation when it is necessary to close an individual school because of a power failure or other circumstances). Children should know where to go or what to do if a parent will not be at home.
