School News

Book Fair. The Book Fair is coming to Camelot during the week of November 26-December 1. Extended hours will be held on the following dates: Monday, November 26 until 7pm, Wednesday, November 28 until 7pm, Friday, November 30 open at 8am.

FLE Parent Preview. Earlier this year, we sent home opt-out forms for the Family Life Education (FLE) K-6 curriculum (which includes Emotional and Social Health for grades K-6, and Human Growth and Development for grades 4-6). For more information about the FCPS FLE program, please see the detailed grade-level program descriptions at https://www.fcps.edu/academics/elementary-family-life-education-fle. In addition, grade level-specific curriculum lessons are available for review online in FCPS 24-7 (Blackboard) Parent View. This includes lessons and media titles that FCPS has streaming rights for. Any additional media or book titles that are not streamed are available in our school library. Parents/guardians will need a SIS account to access FCPS 24-7 https://fcps.blackboard.com/https://www.fcps.edu/resources/technology/fcps-24-7-learning. Parents/guardians are also invited to preview materials at school on Monday, November 26 between 6-7pm.

Level IV AAP Referrals.  Save the date—On December 5, from 7-8pm, Karen Mitchell, our Advanced Academics Resource Teacher will host a session for parents on the topic of referring students for the highest level of Advanced Academic Program service. Level IV service is offered to students in grades 3-6. Parent Referrals for Level IV screening are due to Camelot no later than January 10, 2019.

Makerspace Items. Our Makerspace is in need of the items listed below for “making” in the space. If you would like to donate, please send them to the office or library. Items: Plastic containers- all shapes and sizes,any type of craft supplies- felt, stickers, ribbon, pom poms etc., tape-scotch, masking, colored, washi...

Donuts with Dudettes, November 30, 8:30-9 am. Calling all the ladies--moms, grandmoms, aunts, friends, caregivers! Please join your students in the cafeteria for some bonding over donuts and juice! Also, as an added bonus, swing by the Book Fair and get your shopping in-doors to the library will be open! A special thank you to Progressive Dental Care, for sponsoring Donuts with Dudettes and to Kelly Pike for rounding up our donuts!

Fun Run Pledge Donations Due Next Friday, Nov 30th. Now it's time to collect pledge money to make the Fun Run a success! PTA Meeting; Save the date November 28. Please save the date for Nov 28th for our next PTA meeting. This meeting will include a presentation on testing at Camelot: What tests are given in FCPS and why; what the school does with the testing data; and more.

School Directory. Our AtoZ Camelot school directory with this year’s has been uploaded.  Emails to verify and add your contact info to your have been sent. This year, you need to add your phone number if you’d like it included in the directory.
