 At a time set aside for expressing gratitude for all that we have, we are especially appreciative of our extraordinary students who continue to amaze us with their knowledge, effort, and character; our outstanding volunteers who help each and every day to provide support to our teachers and the many additional classroom activities; our wonderful PTA who gives support to our school every day of the year; and all of our staff and faculty who continually strive to bring the best instructional program to our students each day. Their dedication and efforts are commendable.
On behalf of the faculty and staff at Oakton Elementary, we hope that your Thanksgiving is filled with family, good food, and many reasons to be thankful.

 Picture Retakes
Student portrait packages will be sent home in the Tuesday folder next week. Students who were absent on our Picture Day, who missed the opportunity to purchase portraits, or who would like to have a portrait re-taken can have their picture taken on Thursday, November 29. New purchases should be requested by completing a school picture envelope, which is available in the office. If you are not pleased with your child's picture and would like a retake, you must return the entire original packet.

Outstanding Employee Awards
Nominations are now open to identify and celebrate awesome FCPS employees - only 1 week left! To submit a nomination for our school, please click here. You may nominate an employee in one or more categories. All that is required for a preliminary nomination is 1-2 paragraphs about how this employee demonstrates exceptional work with respect to the specified criteria. The link above will provide more information regarding the criteria for each of the awards and the eligibility requirements. Categories are:
