We are in dire need for the remaining Federal Impact Aid forms to be returned. We are in the final stretch for collecting outstanding forms. The county requires we submit one for each child enrolled.

JROTC Veteran’s Day Dinner
The South Lakes High School Army JROTC program is hosting an appreciation dinner for Veterans of all services and their guests. The dinner will include a free meal and music provided by the SLHS orchestra. Thank you to Veritiss for their sponsorship of this event!
The menu includes:
- Chicken Piccata, Harvest Vegetable Medley, Rice Confetti, Artisan
Bread, Salad, Rolls with Butter, Ceremonial Cake, & Ice Cream.
- When: November 16th, 2018.
- 1st Serving from 4:00PM - 6:00PM
- 2nd Serving from 6:30PM - 8:30PM

2019 FCPS Outstanding Employee Awards Call for Nominations
This is an excellent way to acknowledge and celebrate the amazing faculty and staff we have at South Lakes! There are six categories including Principal, Teacher, New Teacher, Leader (school-based), Operational Employee (school-based) and Hourly Employee (school-based). Any FCPS employee, student, parent or community member can submit nominations. Please follow the link for more information on eligibility and criteria, and to access the google forms. Your participation is very much appreciated as we want to feature the efforts and dedication of our SLHS employees. All nominations must be submitted through Lisa Girdy, the SLHS Awards Liaison. Attendance
The state has implemented a new school accreditation measure around attendance. Students who miss more than 10% of the school year (18 days in the year) for ANY reason, excused or unexcused, are considered chronically absent. If we reach a certain threshold of students who are chronically absent, SLHS will not meet that accreditation standard. Please be mindful of the school schedule when you plan trips or other events that will result in your child missing school.
