Dear Centreville High School Community,
As you know, we will be undergoing the process of selecting a new principal in the coming weeks. My name is Sharon Stemme and am the CVHS PTSA president. I have been asked to gather names of community members interested in serving on the principal selection panel which will be held Wednesday, December 5th, 2018 (with a snow date of Thursday, December 6, 2018) at the Gatehouse Administrative Center in Falls Church. We ask that any community member that submits their name as a candidate to serve on the panel confirm they are available for the entire day (7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.) The panel may not take the entire day, but in case it does, we want to be sure all are available for the entire process.
Community representatives should be those who are committed to the principal selection process and the future of Centreville High School. The panel members should represent the diversity of the school, the various ages/grade levels of children in the school, various programs/activities in which their children are involved, etc.
If you are interested and available, please complete the form below NO LATER THAN 9 am Thursday, November 15. I must pass along the names to the Region office by Friday, November 16th. Please either email the form to me at cvhsptsapresident@yahoo.com or deliver the form to Centreville High School, attention Sharon Stemme-PTSA President.

*If more than 6 community members are interested the PTSA board will convene to determine the six names that will be sent to the Region. From the six community member names submitted, the Region Assistant Superintendent will select three to participate and three alternates for the panel.
Additionally, please be reminded that a representative from the office of Administrative Employment will be coming out to Liberty Middle School on Wednesday November 14th, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. with the Region leadership team to meet with the staff and community to provide information regarding the principal selection process. If you are able, please plan to attend that afternoon. I have also attached the input form from the county so feedback can be submitted that way.

To determine the best match for the leadership needs at your school, parent and staff perspectives will be used to screen candidate resumes and develop interview questions. Please provide input detailing the skills, experiences, and leadership characteristics needed at your school. Include challenges and issues that the new principal will need to address. Principal professional skills include planning and assessment, instructional leadership, safety and organizational management, communication and community relations.
