A Note From Principal Eck

The following is a letter that Justice received today from the Falls Church Varsity Football Coach, Said Aziz. We wanted to share this with the Justice Community.

November 4, 2018

Dear Principal Eck, Mr. Garvey, Coach Weisbecker and the entire Justice High School Community,

My name is Said Aziz, and I am the head football coach at Falls Church High School. I want this letter to serve as my formal apology to Justice High School’s football program, administration and staff, and the community for my actions after the Bell game on Friday night.

After the game, my actions were classless and in poor taste. I got caught up in the excitement of the game and used poor judgement. As an educator/head football coach I am supposed to be a role model to my kids, the community, and my school. I was not a role model on Friday night. I was discourteous to the Justice staff and team by conducting our post-game celebration in their presence. In addition, I foolishly posted something on Twitter that was in poor taste and not representative of the values of Falls Church HS. I sincerely apologize to all involved and would like to apologize in person if permitted.

Over the last two days, I have been doing a lot of reflecting on my actions and I have learned so much; I realize that I need to keep my emotions and actions in check, model the behavior I expect from my student athletes and use social media only for positive recognition and promotion.

I hope that you will accept my apology and that moving forward the Bell game will once again become a friendly rivalry between two neighboring schools and a positive event for both of our communities.

Sincerely,

Said Aziz

Head Football Coach
