 October Retirement Plan Information Session Well Attended
We kicked off the new school year with our first retirement plan information session in October, and members of all ages and stages attended. It was great to meet some younger staff members interested in understanding the retirement plans they contribute to and how these plans will benefit them in the future. Whether you're just beginning your career or thinking about retiring, join us for one of our upcoming sessions at Gatehouse. Representatives from ERFC, VRS and FCPS HR Benefit Services will share plan details and answer questions. Register for any of the upcoming sessions on MyPLT, search RET.
We welcome 20 new ambassadors in November!
Volunteer to be an ERFC Ambassador and join more than 100 other ERFC members who are acting as ERFC resources for their co-workers. Attend our next training session on Tuesday, December 4, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., where we will share information for all three ERFC plans so that you can point your co-workers to the resources they need to better understand their retirement benefits. VRS Hybrid Plan* Members: December 17 Deadline to Increase Voluntary Contributions
Don’t miss the opportunity to boost your voluntary contributions—the deadline is December 17, 2018. In addition to your mandatory contribution, you can contribute up to an additional 4 percent and receive 2.5 percent in employer matching contributions. Your voluntary contributions add up over time! Modest savings begun early can make a difference in your retirement account. Increase your contribution and learn more your primary retirement benefit on the VRS website.
*Full-time, monthly paid educational, administrative and support staff hired on or after January 1, 2014.
