Nominations for Employee Awards Open!
Nominations are now open for the Outstanding Employee Awards! To submit a nomination for a W.T. Woodson Outstanding Employee in one of the categories below, please complete the nomination through a Google Form.
You may nominate an employee in one or more categories. All that is required for a preliminary nomination is a paragraph or two about how this employee demonstrates exceptional work in the criteria for that category. The Google Form link has more information regarding the criteria for each of these awards and the eligibility requirements are below.
Outstanding Teacher
Eligibility: Has at least three years of experience as a teacher; librarians are included in this category.
Outstanding New Teacher
Eligibility: Within their first three years of being a teacher; librarians are included in this category.
Outstanding Leader
Eligibility: At least one year of experience in current position. Common positions in this category: School-Based Technology Specialist, Technology Support Specialist, Assistant and Associate Principals, DSA, DSS, Assessment Coach, Career Center Specialist, Instructional Coach, SOSA, Psychologist, Social Worker, School Counselor.
Outstanding Operational Employee
Eligibility: At least one year of experience in current position. Common positions in this category: administrative and office assistants, custodial staff, food service staff, IA, PHA, PHTA, all parent liaisons
The deadline to submit a nomination is Tuesday, November 20th.

This is the final weekend for Woodson Drama Department's Fall production of Salvation Road by D.W. Gregory.

Upcoming PTSO Meeting
The next PTSO meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the library.
Our PTSO supports our teachers and students. Their contributions in hours of volunteering, donations of cookies and financial assistance in classrooms are critical to our success with your sons and daughters. Please consider becoming a member. Report Card Distribution
Report cards will be distributed through 7th period classes on Friday, November 16th. Students who do not have a 7th period class may pick up their report cards in Student Services starting on Friday, November 16th.

Jack's Brain, Jill's Brain: Gender Differences and Why They Matter
Did you ever know deep down that your girls and your boys learned differently? This workshop will highlight the rapidly emerging research on how the brains of females and males are developmentally, structurally and functionally different. Learn how the practical application of this research can provide behavioral and emotional interventions to both boys and girls. Gain knowledge about the many brain-based resources available for parents in the community and online.
