Be sure to bring your driver's license for check-in! All visitors will be required to check into our Visitor Management System.

We hope you can join us for our annual Thanksgiving Lunch on Monday, November 12th. Please note the special lunch times for this day below.  Students $3.25 ~ Adults and non-students $4.50.  Exact change is greatly appreciated!

KGES Celebrates Veterans Day!

Monday, November 12th

Here is a line-up of Veterans Day Activities at Kings Glen:

•  Wear Red, White and Blue to support our Veterans and current members of the Armed Forces!

•  School-Wide Assembly at 2:15 pm:  Parents and guests are welcome to join us as we celebrate and honor our Veterans at Kings Glen on Monday, November 12 at 2:15 pm. Our school-wide assembly program will feature guest and student speakers, our SCA, our KG Chorus and more!

•  Book Fair Shopping on Veterans Day: There will be open shopping at our 2018 Fall Book Fair to coincide with Veterans Day and Thanksgiving Lunch. Parents and guardians who will be attending the lunch are invited to come between 11:15 am-1:50 pm to shop at the book fair. A huge thank-you to all of our Veterans in the KG community!

Please have your child check the Lost and Found table in the cafeteria for any lost items such as clothing, coats, lunch boxes, etc. The table is overflowing!


Family Life Education Preview

Kings Glen will be hosting a preview of the Family Life Education (FLE) Curriculum on Monday, November 19 at 6 pm in the computer lab. Additionally, parents are also able to access the FLE lessons via FCPS 24/7 (Blackboard). After logging in, select the Curriculum tab at the top of the page, click on the Family Life Education tab and you will see the FLE information. (Additional information regarding Family Life Education)

Kings Glen Online Book Fair

Our Online Book Fair will run from November 4 - November 17. Books ordered online will be delivered to school the week of November 26. The Online Fair offers a greater selection of books, as well as the convenience of shopping from home.  Please visit our book fair home page to shop the online fair.

Volunteers Needed!

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Kings Glen from November 9-16. We need many volunteers to help with class previews/sales, Book Fair Night, and pack-up. Please see the available volunteer times and sign up online. 

Book Fair Loose Change Drive for Books: Oct. 16–Nov. 9

As part of our Fall Book Fair, we are holding a loose change drive to purchase books for students with economic need in our school community. Those who would like to donate may place any amount of loose change or $1 dollar bills in one of the “All for Books” boxes located in the main office. Thank you!


Outstanding Employee Nominations 

Nominations are now open for the Outstanding Employee Awards! To submit a nomination for a Kings Glen  Outstanding Employee please click here and it will take you to a nomination form. Anybody who works in the building can be nominated. All that is required for a preliminary nomination is a paragraph or two about how this employee demonstrates exceptional work in two or more criteria for that category. If the nominee is selected to move on to the regional level, we will be contacting you to collaborate on a much more detailed official nomination packet.

The deadline to submit a nomination is November 14, 2018.
