Field Day This Friday

 Salad Bar
Starting October 31, the Orange Hunt Cafeteria will feature a salad bar as another option for student lunches! To learn more about the salad bar, please click here. Students will be learning how to use the salad bar with their classes before it's opening on October 31.

Come out and support your school during Spirit Week at the Burke Chick-Fil-A! Say 'Spirit Week' when you order and a percentage will be donated to Orange Hunt Elementary School!
 Veteran's Day
We are looking forward to holding our Veteran’s Day Assembly on Monday, November 12th. Since part of our celebration includes music, we love to highlight members of our OHES community who are musicians in the military bands. If you are a member of a military band and would like to participate in our assemblies the morning of November 12th, please contact our band director, Eileen Fraedrich (ewfraedrich@fcps.edu). During the assembly, we also involve the students who have a parent who is currently deployed. Prior to the assembly, please make sure to reach out to Suzanne Sousa (sbsousa@fcps.edu) with the name of the parent who is deployed, along with a photo, so that the parent and child can be included in the celebration. We cannot thank you enough for your support or service!

Federal Impact Aide Survey- Let's get 100%
Last Tuesday, all families were asked to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid.
Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an anticipated $3 million dollars in grant funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by this Friday, October 26. All results are CONFIDENTIAL.
