Absences Add Up: FCPS School Calendar Gives Time for Families to Travel
Families benefit from visiting relatives and reconnecting with friends throughout the year. If you are planning a trip, consider traveling when students are off from school, such as the upcoming teacher work days on November 5 and 6. FCPS has also added a day off before Thanksgiving to provide additional time for travel and family gatherings.
Regular attendance is important, so plan to check the school calendar first before planning a trip.
Student-Parent Survey For Federal Impact Aid
Beginning on October 16th, FCPS will be asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid.
Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an anticipated $3 million dollars in grant funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by October 26. All results are CONFIDENTIAL.

Cub Run Family Science Night
Bring the family to Cub Run’s Family Science Night with Children’s Science Center, a night of fun and discovery at our own school! We're excited to offer this event for Cub Run families for a third year! Families will explore together the cafeteria filled with activity tables at this open house PTA sponsored event. Our teachers and parents will act as celebrity demonstrators. Please mark your calendars and join us on December 6thany time between 6 and 8 pm.
The PTA can bring this event to Cub Run because of our fantastic parent volunteers. We must have at least 16 volunteers over the age of 16 to make it happen.
