Superintendent of FCPS, Scott Brabrand, visited with students, teachers, and parents at Little Run today.
Perspective
Next week, our students will learn about perspective. Perspective is also referred to as wisdom and is distinct from intelligence. This strength of perspective gives individuals the ability to see to the heart of difficult matters and achieve clarity. Perspective is usually gained over time, as one accumulates more knowledge and experiences. However, developing perspective is not only a matter of time. It comes from truly listening to others when they talk and working to understand new points of view when reading books, listening to stories, or watching movies.
STUDENT-PARENT SURVEY FOR FEDERAL IMPACT AID
Earlier this week, we sent home a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid. If you have already returned it, thank you! If you have not returned it yet, please send it with your child on Monday.
Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an anticipated $3 million dollars in grant funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by October 26. All results are CONFIDENTIAL.

Putting a Face to the Name
Over the summer, we shared bio's about our new teachers at Little Run. Each week we will share a picture to help put a face to the name!
Meet Patrick Osborne, Our New Preschool Autism Instructional Assistant
Hello everyone reading this! I have been living in Northern Virginia my entire life. I went to Radford University and got my Bachelors in Education with the expectation of becoming a late elementary school teacher. However, instead of becoming a teacher, I found my way as an IA in Preschool, and I have never looked back. My priority first and foremost is to further the education of the kids, and to make sure they have a happy and safe time in school.
It is SOCKTOBER! Lake Braddock SS needs your donations! From now through October 31, please donate new and unused socks of all sizes to the bins in front lobby of Little Run. The donations will be sent to a local shelter. Thank you for your support and encouragement. Questions? Please contact LBSS staff: Lisa Williams or Paul Agner.
