It's Red Ribbon Week!

Bucknell's SCA is sponsoring Red Ribbon Week to remind students to remain drug free.  This year's theme is, "Life is a journey, travel drug free."  Listed below are the activities for the week.

Monday-Wear something from your favorite place

Tuesday-Wear crazy hair

Wednesday-Wear your temporary tattoo from your teacher

Thursday-Wear red for Red Ribbon Week

Friday-Wear your pajamas! (Remember, no slippers)

Science Night is Almost Here!

Bucknell Recognizes Veterans' Day

Bucknell remembers Veterans' Day with a Whole School Morning Meeting at 9:30 AM on Monday, November 12, 2018.  Please contact Ms. Gabby Wolosik, at GKWolosik@fcps.edu if you are a retired veteran or a current military employee and would like to participate.  

 

 

Federal Impact Aid Forms

Federal Impact Aid forms were sent home on Thursday, October 18.  Please be on the lookout for these forms, fill them out, sign and return them to school.  Even if you do not think you qualify, we are required to collect forms from all families.  As we face budget issues each year, the information gathered from this survey can be critical to providing funding to the county. FCPS anticipates receiving approximately $3,000,000 from the Impact Aid Grant this year.  

Again, accurate and timely completion of the form is essential because FCPS requires 100% completion for all schools.  Each student enrolled at Bucknell Elementary School as of October 15, 2018 must turn in a completed form.  Please know that personal information will be kept confidential. 

Instructions are on the reverse side of the survey but here is a simplified version.

If:  

  • Neither parent is active duty military, foreign military nor works on federal property – check the  ‘no’ boxes in parts 1,2,and 3, and sign and date the form on the bottom.
  • A parent is active duty military or foreign military - complete section 1, and sign and date the form on the bottom.
  • A parent works on federal property in Virginia - complete section 2. Please make sure to include a complete address with street number, name, city, and zip code if necessary, and sign and date the form on the bottom.

Please return forms no later than November 2nd.
