Students in Ms. Baucom's class earned their "Snap Word" Power this week! Students have been working on recognizing snap words such as in, as, I, a, the, and, was. They have already earned Sound Power, Partner Power, Pointer Power, and Picture Power. These kids have super reading skills!
Charlie Deleage, OES 6th grader, and
his family met with Former President Bill Clinton last week to raise awareness for
Prader-Willi Syndrome and the need to educate others about this disability in America. President Clinton and Charlie held hands and became fast friends! President Clinton was the featured speaker at
the Live Life Full event benefitting the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research
as was Tim Shriver, Chairman of Special Olympics. They spoke eloquently about
disability in America and about ways to promote inclusion.

Your donations make a BIG Difference!
Please consider donating to the Panther Pride Fund this year at www.PantherPrideFund.org. Your donation directly impacts your child at Oakton Elementary and we rely on your generous donations to provide the critical learning tools and resources that our FCPS budget does not cover. If you are in a position to do so, please donate today. Together, we can do this! Here is a brief video showing your donations at work at OES:
