Federal Impact Aid
Each year, FCPS is eligible to apply for federal Impact Aid grant funds, which are designed to assist local school districts that enroll federally-connected students. FCPS anticipates receiving $3M in funds which become part of the school system's general operating budget and are critical to maintaining high standards for educational excellence. Federally-connected students attend ALL Fairfax County Public Schools, so it is very important to provide these additionally available federal resources.
Families received their annual Federal Impact Aid forms on October 16th, and are asked to return them before October 26th. Please check out this short video about how YOU can be a superhero: click here

As we move toward Veterans Day, we would like to give our
students and staff the opportunity to recognize the Veterans and currently
serving service members in their families. A template was sent home for students to complete about the
service member they would like to recognize. Feel free to make a copy or
ask for additional copies if your child has more than one to recognize.
There is a space for students to either draw a picture of their veteran, or to
attach a photo, which will be showcased for all to see on Veterans Day.
Parents, we ask that you not send us family heirloom photos, but rather a
copy; our goal is to have all photos returned, but we cannot guarantee
this. Thank you for helping us recognize our heroes!

Our annual Veterans Day/Thanksgiving Luncheon celebration is Friday, November 9th. We are asking our students and staff to wear red, white, and blue for this special day! The always-poignant Veterans Day ceremony will begin at 10:00am, 4th grade assembly (5th grade chorus) and 2:15pm, 5th and 6th grade assembly (6th grade chorus) in the gym; all families are invited to attend.
Our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon will also occur on Friday, November 9th in the cafeteria. Lunch times will be adjusted slightly; the schedule will be sent home a bit closer to the date.
The cost of the luncheon for family members is $4.50. Student lunch fees are the same as they are any other day ($3.25 for regular lunch, or free for students who qualify). Please check your child's Thursday folder for additional information.
We hope you’ll join us on Friday, November 9th at Fort Belvoir Upper!
We are looking for volunteers to help in the cafeteria during our Thanksgiving lunch. (Primary school will have their lunch on a different day.)
