Ms. Russell's 3rd grade class is diligently planning and designing a museum exhibit about ladybugs.

Positivity Project

Integrity

Next week, our students will learn about integrity. Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is watching. People with integrity practice what they preach and maintain a consistent pattern of behavior aligned with their values. They have the courage not to follow the crowd if it means going against their beliefs. A person who lacks integrity pretends to be something that they’re not or they say one thing and then do another.

Roadrunner 5k Fun Run: October 13th

Get Ready to Get Up and Go!

Little Run's 11th Annual Fun Run - This Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 8:00-10:00 AM. This is a school-wide community event and the PTA's largest fundraiser. This year there will be a 5K run and 1K walk option. Run in your PJs and enjoy doughnuts at the finish line. There will also be fitness stations, food trucks, music, and more to enjoy after the run! ALL funds raised support PTA sponsored Little Run activities and resources.

It's not too late to register or raise funds to help us reach our goal of $18,000!  T-shirts are no longer available at registration.

To register online click here. Little Run students who have not registered can still participate in the run.

Click here for a list of businesses that will match their employees' contributions to public schools. Some companies even honor retirees. Individuals just need to fill out a form supplied by their HR. If there is a company not listed, one should inquire with their HR.

Your support is appreciated!

progress report

Progress Report Changes

FCPS is moving to a paperless progress report system. First quarter report cards will be printed; however, we will be going paperless for second quarter. Please create a ParentVUE account to assist with the smooth transition to paperless delivery. If you need an activation code, please email Mrs. Reyes at vvreyes@fcps.edu. If you need assistance signing up, please come to our Coffee & Conversation with Ms. Joranko on October 19th from 9:30-10:30. Please RSVP at ajoranko@fcps.edu.

STUDENT-PARENT SURVEY FOR FEDERAL IMPACT AID

Beginning on October 16th, FCPS will be asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid.

Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an anticipated $3 million dollars in grant funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3.  All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by October 26. All results are CONFIDENTIAL.

Learn more by watching this short video featuring Superintendent Scott Brabrand and the U.S. Army Garrison Commander COL Michael Greenberg from Fort Belvoir.

Betsey

Meet Betsey Chaykin, Our New Special Education Instructional Assistant

I am thrilled to be at Little Run!  I have worked for FCPS for over 10 years in various capacities, including teacher and IA.  I love building relationships with students and helping them thrive.  When at Little Run, I feel energized by the staff and the students - what a fantastic community to be a part of!  I live in Burke and have 2 daughters who go to FCPS.
