Good afternoon, Spring Hill Families!
What a beautiful weekend! I hope that you and your
loved ones had an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful weather this
weekend. My 3-year-old son, Wes, and I had the chance to explore many of
the fall festivals in the area and had an amazing time. Needless to
say, we have an abundance of apples, pumpkins, and collections of leaves,
twigs, and more scattered around my household. 😊
Thank you for your continued support.

Parent Information about
Elementary Grade Level Curriculum
A digital drop-down tool was created for
parents and the community to learn more about the elementary standards and
benchmarks by grade level and content that is accessible by clicking on the Elementary School Academics on the FCPS public internet.
Once
on this page, please select the grade level you would like to learn more about.
Inside the grade-specific page, you may visit any of the linked pages for an
overview of programs of content. For a deeper dive into a specific
content, click
on View the ___Grade program of Studies (POS) button. Within this
page, you may click on any subject (i.e., mathematics, science, etc.) and a
drop down by standards and benchmarks will appear.
CogAT Testing
In the fall, the Naglieri
Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT) is administered to all FCPS first grade students
and the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT-Custom Form) is administered to all
FCPS second grade students. These test scores are used for a variety of
instructional purposes, including AAP placement.
During the fall
testing cycle, the NNAT and/or Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) may also be
administered to students in Grades 3-6 who do not have an ability test score.
The CogAT will be given at Spring Hill during the week of October 1st.
NNAT testing is scheduled for the week of November 12th.
