The Franklin Sherman Flash - Oct. 1

What's Happening in 3rd Grade?

3rd

FSES third graders became entomologists this week when the ladybug larva arrived!  The students are learning to observe ladybugs like true entomologists by using hand lenses and taking notes in their Ladybug Observation Journals. As they observe the ladybug life cycle, the third graders will be working collaboratively to create their own exhibits that capture the ladybug in different terrestrial ecosystems!

Meet Our New Special Education Teacher, Lisa Falkenstein!

lisa

Mrs. Lisa Falkenstein is the newest addition to Franklin Sherman's team of special education teachers.  Mrs. Falkenstein was born in Memphis, TN, grew up in northern Mississippi, and moved to Virginia when her husband was transferred here with the Army National Guard.  She has experience teaching regular education and special education from preschool through 12th grades at numerous school districts throughout Mississippi.  She enjoys moving with her husband to his new assignments, because it allows her to experience many different methods of teaching.  Mrs. Falkenstein loves teaching, because she is addicted to the challenge of how to get students more engaged in loving and learning within the classroom.  After eighteen years of teaching, she is still drawn back to the classroom.

When not working, Mrs. Falkenstein enjoys spending time with her three children, Tyler (21), Elise (19), Emilyn (5), her husband, and many friends from all over.  She loves to explore new places from nearby to far, trying new and unique restaurants.  She is also an avid Ole Miss Rebels fan.
