Thank you to all of the parents that accepted our Three For Me challenge.
Not sure what that is? Three For Me is county wide initiative to help families
plan meaningful ways to be involved in their child's learning experience. Research
shows that students do better in school when their parents and family members
engage in the school community. We are asking that parents commit to
volunteering 3 hours of their time throughout the year to the school. This can
take place in the classroom, the cafeteria, the library, at a holiday/end of
year party, or through a PTA sponsored activity. Ready to give more? Please
consider shadowing our current Year Book Layout team or our Faculty
Appreciation Week lead. Shadowing is a great way to see what happens behind the
scenes to determine if it is the right fit for you. Please contact Ms.
Christine Kelley or Ms. Anuja Prabhune at vpvolunteers@willowspringspta.net to
learn more.

Reflections
For 50 years,
National PTA’s Reflections program has helped students explore
their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase
confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more
successful in school and in life. The 2018-2019 theme "Heroes Around Me" will spark imagination and creativity
in school and at home. Each year, hundreds of
thousands of students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create and submit original
works of art in one or all of the available arts categories, which are Dance Choreography, Film, Literature, Music, Photography, Visual
Arts. If your child is interested in submitting an entry, the deadline is
November 2nd. Please contact Prassu Mehta at prastavna@yahoo.com for more information and
details on how to enter. All work must be the student's own without any outside
assistance. Winners will move on to the district, state, and national levels if
chosen. For more information, please visit the PTA website.
Restaurant Night at Chipotle
Looking for an
excuse to get out of the kitchen and have dinner with others? Why don’t you
gather a group of your friends and neighbors and join us for our first
restaurant night of the school year? Tuesday, October 2nd, from
5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. we will be hosting a restaurant night at Chipotle in Fair Lakes,
13042 Fair Lakes Shopping Center. There will be handouts for the kids, no
clean-up for the adults and fun for all. See you there!!!
Effortless Fundraising with Coke
We’re excited to share that our school is now part of the
Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up Willow Springs to new funding opportunities
to help improve learning environments for students.
The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When
you make Coca-Cola purchases or have friends save their caps, there are two
options for submitting the code. Please send the boxtop/bottle top/wrapper code in to your child's teacher. Or, simply enter the product codes here and our school receives a donation. The code donations range from $.05 to $.35.
Help Willow Springs make the most of this program and learn more
at Coke.com/give.
