Bus Notes
When students are going home with a friend on the bus, a hand-written note, with a parent’s
signature, is required from both parents of the students
making the request. A
temporary bus pass will not be issued without the note from both
parents or guardians. These policies are in place for your
child’s safety, and is required by the School Transportation Department of
Fairfax County Public Schools.

After-School Program
The After-School Program will begin this Monday, September 24th!
The program is FREE for all Poe students and provides opportunities for academic
support & enrichment, recreation & fitness, the arts, social
interaction, and community service. Students are also given a free
meal each afternoon. The schedule of activities for the start of the year
was distributed to students last week and is attached to this newsletter
as well.
Program hours are Monday through Friday from 2:15-4:45pm.
Late buses are provided at 4:45pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for
students who participate in the program. Route number and bus stop
information for the late runs is available on Blackboard/FCPS 24-7 Learning
(these may be different than the bus number & stop for the regular school
day). Students will also be given this information throughout the first
week of after-school.
When students participate in after-school they must stay until the
4:45pm dismissal unless a parent/guardian signs them out in the front office or
they provide a signed note from a parent/guardian to Mr. Rosas. Students are not permitted to return once
they have left the school grounds.
Please make sure to discuss your child’s after-school plans for
each day in advance to prevent any confusion.
To contact the After-School Program staff during program hours, please
call 703-813-3800.
We look forward to having our students stay after!
