FSES 4th graders worked together to practice rounding during math class. Students rotated through a variety of stations to practice rounding to the tens, hundreds, and thousands. They worked in groups to round numbers and compare answers.
Mrs. Nikki Bohnert is the new
school counselor at Franklin Sherman Elementary School. After graduating from
Missouri State University two years ago, she and her husband moved to
Virginia to be closer to family. Mrs. Bohnert lived in Missouri for many years, but she is originally from Jersey. Her favorite place to be is Ocean City, New Jersey, on
the boardwalk. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their pug,
Remy. Mrs. Bohnert is very excited to be at Franklin Sherman, and she looks forward
to getting to know the students and community.
If you can spare an hour or
two each week, consider volunteering to shelve books in the FSES library. Our
students read many volumes, and when the books are returned, they need
to go back on the shelves. You can help make this happen with a small
commitment of 1 or 2 hours a week. It’s
fun and rewarding, and you will get to see all of the new titles that arrive.

Please join us for the first PTA meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 26, at
6:30 p.m. in the Franklin Sherman library. Free babysitting will be
provided in the gym for children three years of age and older. PTA
meetings are a great way to learn about upcoming PTA activities, meet other
parents, find ways to get involved, and hear updates from the school
administration.
