The

The Region 5 Office is pleased to announce that
Mr. Robert D’Amato has been named the new principal for Deer Park Elementary
School.
Mr. D’Amato is currently the principal at Lees Corner Elementary School
where he has been the principal since 2011. Prior to his tenure at Lees
Corner ES, he served as the assistant principal at both Centre Ridge Elementary
and Bull Run Elementary from 2007-2011. Additionally, during the summers of
2007-2010, Mr. D’Amato served as a Summer School and ESY Summer School
principal.
Mr. D’Amato brings a wealth
of knowledge and experience to this position having served as a dedicated
educator for over 20 years. His focus as a leader has been on developing
a welcoming, safe, supportive environment for parents, staff, and students by
making connections with stakeholders in order for them to feel valued and
respected as members of the community. Mr. D’Amato has a positive
attitude and hands on approach that he brings to school each and every day as
he fosters an atmosphere that encourages success and rewards risk taking.
Mr. D’Amato has a record of success in leading instruction that results in high
academic achievement for all students, and has been a pioneer of innovative
practices including spearheading the 1:1 FCPSOn Initiative in the Chantilly
Pyramid.
Mr. D’Amato was the recipient
of the Chantilly Pyramid and Region 5, 2017-2018 Outstanding Principal of the
Year award. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Education and History from
Monmouth University and an Administrative Masters in Educational Leadership
from George Mason University.
