 New Requirements for Student Reenrollment in FCPS
For the purpose of reenrollment in FCPS, persons returning from temporary (greater than four weeks) trips outside the United States will be required to be screened for tuberculosis. Students may be conditionally enrolled in FCPS if they present a temporary medical waiver of a TST.
TUBERCULOSIS SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:
For all students who have resided in a foreign country included on the High TB Burden Country List for 2018, http://www.fcps.edu/dss/osp/StudentRegistration/registration-requirements.shtml, for a consecutive period of four weeks, one of the following is required:
- Evidence of a negative tuberculin skin test (TST) or Quantiferon TB Gold blood test (QFT) and a negative symptom screen completed within 90 calendar days prior to registration, certified by a licensed physician or department of health.
- Evidence of a normal (negative) chest X-ray taken within 90 calendar days prior to registration.
- Documentation of a negative symptom screen and risk assessment from the health department or private physician for students who present written documentation of having completed treatment for latent tuberculosis infection or TB disease.

Cameron UMC Children's Consignment Sale
Cameron United Methodist Church is hosting a children's consignment sale on Friday and Saturday, September 28 and 29. Friday hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to noon. Families are encouraged to come by and shop, or participate as a seller! Sellers receive 60% of the profits and the United Methodist Women receive 40% to support local and national charities. Items not sold will be donated to local schools and charities. For more details, visit the website.

Global STEM Community Event
Family
and friends are invited to attend a free Global STEM Community Event on October 13 from
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Edison High School entrance 17. At the event, STEM
Organizations will host hands-on activities and provide information on
opportunities for students to continue to engage in STEM outside of school.
High school students from the Edison Global STEM Challenges Program will
display projects. FCPS staff will provide information on pathways to careers.
The event is geared towards Kindergarten through 8th Grade students and
families within the Edison Pyramid. Shuttle buses will be provided with stops
at Rose Hill Elementary, Cameron Elementary, and Mount Eagle Elementary.
 Staff Spotlight: January Tkach
Ms. Tkach is in her second year as the Assistant Principal at Cameron Elementary. She previously taught Kindergarten, 3rd Grade, and supported Head Start.
In her spare time, Ms. Tkach enjoys travaling, hiking, camping, cooking, and reading with her husband two children.
Ms. Tkach grew up and went to college in Madison, Wisconson, and lived in California and Arizona before moving to Virginia.
