announced at Back to School Night, we will vote on the 2018-2019 PTA Budget at
our General Meeting this Monday, September 17, at 7:30 PM in the Pod.

One-time promotion! Anyone who joins the PTA for the 2018-2019
school year by THIS FRIDAY, September 14 will be entered in a random drawing to
win a $100 Amazon gift card. If you have
already joined, you will be included in the drawing.
The deadline’s midnight Friday, so don’t

2018-2019 Budget
Please join us Monday,
Sept 17, at 7:30 in the POD to vote on this year’s PTA Budget. A summary is attached…here are a few high
points
- Eliminating major fundraiser for the year
- Increased classroom support funding for member teachers
- Adjusted some committee line to reflect actual spending
- Removed line items not in use for the past several years
The meeting will be held
in the pod – please remember, you must be a member to vote! Hope to see you there.

yet to be filled. Without a leader,

Mark your calendar – Family Fun Night – September 28
Come one, come all to the
PTA’s first family fun night of the year.
We’ll have a private screening of the blockbuster hit “Sherlock
Gnomes”. The movie is free and so is the
popcorn! We will have pizza slices
available for purchase. Stay tuned for
more information and a volunteer signup (the popcorn won’t serve itself). Bring a blanket and reusable water bottle!

have been added – we have had programs cancel due to low enrollment in the
past, so if you plan to register, please do so soon! Check it all out on the student programs page.
Tootsie Pops for Box Tops!
It’s time to turn in your Box Tops! The PTA’s first collection event will run the
entire month of September. We’re keeping
it simple as we get back into the school routine: Send in Box Tops, go home
with a Tootsie Pop. We gladly accept Box
Tops in a baggie or on a sheet. Be sure
they are clearly labeled with Student Name and Teacher Name. Form attached below!

Proposed PTA Budget
 
Allocation
of Fairview PTA Resources
The
Fairview Elementary School PTA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization enriching
the lives of the entire Fairview community through strategic investments in
student enrichment, curriculum support, and family engagement. The Fairview PTA aims to directly enhance the
school’s mission
to educate every Falcon to
his/her full potential, foster life-long
learning by recognizing and encouraging individual talents and capabilities
through diverse opportunities. We
accomplish this by providing funding in four key areas:
- Student Enrichment
- School Support
- Student Programs
- Family Events and Services
Student Enrichment:
The PTA provides supplemental funds for field trip
transportation and fees to lower or cover the cost of our students’ adventures;
bringing context to their classroom learning.
Each year we aim to provide a book
for every Falcon on his/her birthday.
Recognizing the children on their special and fostering a love of
reading.
School Support:
With the goal of enhancing the teaching environment at Fairview, the PTA
provides a money to every full-time teacher to purchase individualized
classroom supplies in support of the curriculum. The PTA provides
funds for program-enhancing materials and equipment to supplement what FCPS
provides. Funds will be used to
purchase: classroom supplies, printers, facility operations, materials for
in-house professional learning, and more.
Student Programs:
The Fairview PTA is
excited to provide a variety of before and after school programs with the
intent to ensure our programs include something for everyone. We offer our
students an array of engaging enrichment classes, to include everything from
sports, to arts, and STEM programs.
Family
Events and Services:
Fairview is committed to its diverse community, seeks to
celebrate the many cultures, and promote its unity. Fairview PTA hosts to major
Family Fun Nights, one in the fall and one in the spring. We also provide various smaller events
throughout the school year, which purposefully bring our community together.
