From the Library:
-
Parent volunteers are so important! We’re
in tighter quarters this year with the renovation, and face extra
challenges with keeping shelves in order. If helping out in a busy,
vibrant library for an hour every week or two sounds appealing to you,
please contact us at hhs_library@fcps.edu.
No prior experience is required!
-
Battle of the Books is back at Herndon High
School for a second year! Many of our students had a great experience with
this team event at Herndon Middle School, and we’re excited about
continuing the fun at the high school level. We’ll know soon which of our
amazing staff members will be coaching . Students who want more
information can stop by the library or email us at hhs_library@fcps.edu.
- Did you know that if your student has library
obligations that are $3.00 or greater, you can pay via MySchoolBucks?
Contact us at the above-referenced email address if you’d like to check
your student’s account.

PTSA
Directory 2018-2019 School Year - Due to the recent
state privacy legislation that forbids schools from providing address and phone
information of students, HHS PTSA is providing a digital list of emails of
parents in place of the usual printed directory.
For HHS, it consists of student name/grade
level/parent guardian names & emails. If you wish to opt-out and not share
your information in this format, please contact Julie Saylor at jsaylor@verizon.net by Sept. 22nd
2018.
If you opt-out and your information
is not in the directory file, you will not be eligible to purchase it.
If you require
additional information on the recently enacted law, please review it at:http://www.fccpta.org/2018/07/16/changes-to-school-directory-information/
Thank you for
joining HHS PTSA and GO HORNETS!!
FCPS has adopted a new online
resource called Mathspace for math courses up through PreCalculus.
Students will be able to access the resource over the internet from anywhere.
There is also a mobile app that can be used on phones and tablets.
Students can log into their account through the FCPS Clever portal using their
regular FCPS network credentials. The resource link will be provided on 24-7
Learning (Blackboard). Parents may learn more about this resource through this video from
Instructional Services or by contacting their child’s math teacher.
Student Parking at Herndon High School - We have more great news to share
with our students and families about student parking on campus! Seniors,
if you received space 1-100 in our August lottery, you should have already
received your parking pass. If you received a number between 101-122, we
now have a space for you! Please review, print, and complete the attached
parking application/forms (form 1, 2, 3, and

signatures), your driver’s license, check or money order (no cash) to the
cafeteria on Monday, August 10 during your lunch period and receive
your space! Reminder: students may not park on campus without
completing this process.
We will continue to review our
parking availability and add student parking when possible. Our side lot
has not yet opened and when it does, we will open the next senior / junior

more.
