Eagle View Elementary, along with all Fairfax County Public Schools, has an extensive safety, security and emergency readiness plan and is guided by FCPS safety and security experts. We regularly practice emergency procedures with the students by conducting safety drills (e.g. fire evacuation drills, tornado drills, bus evacuation drills, and lockdown responses).
All visitors must be verified prior to entry. When visiting the school, please push the doorbell and wait for staff to unlock the door. Visitors and volunteers are required to register in the office with photo identification. Visitor badges are required to be visible while visiting our school.
- Chronic Absenteeism (missing 18 or more school days for any reason – excused or unexcused [illness, appointments, travel, etc.]) is a primary cause of lower academic achievement.
- Regular school attendance in elementary school improves the chances that your child will read on grade level.
- Students who attend 90% or more of the school year are more likely to graduate from high school on time.
- If your family is having difficulties that might interfere with your child attending school, please contact Eagle View’s Social Worker at 703-322-3141 for assistance.
*** If a student accrues multiple absences, school officials will attempt to make contact with families to discuss reasons and solutions for absences
Each fall the CogAT-Custom Form is administered to all FCPS second grade students. Students who are new to FCPS and who do not have an ability test score on file will also be given the CogAT test in the fall testing window. The Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT) will be administered to FCPS first grade students in the spring.
Parents or guardians of students in Grades 3-6 may exercise a one-time re-test option during the fall testing cycle. In order to request that your child be re-tested, please submit your request in writing to Ms. Levy by Friday, September 21, 2018. Requests must be submitted by fax or mail with a parent signature, date, and the name of the requested test. No email requests will be accepted. Fax to: 703-322-3197 or send in with your child ATTN: Mrs. Levy.
Please use the template below:

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) offers a continuum of Advanced Academic services for all students in grades K through 8. Learning experiences are designed to develop higher-level thinking through enrichment, acceleration, and extension of the Program of Studies (POS). Teachers, administrators, and Advanced Academic Resource Teachers (AART) work together to provide all levels of service.
A parent information meeting will be held in the library at Eagle View ES on Monday, October 1st, at 6:00 pm. Nicole Sharpes, AART, will provide an overview about the continuum of Advanced Academic services and also briefly review the screening process for Advanced Academic services.
Please note a separate parent information meeting will be held in December specifically for the screening process for full-time level IV services for parents of students in grades 2 through 6. If your child is new to Fairfax County in grades 3 through 6 and you want your child screened for full time level IV services, the fall deadline is October 11th, 2018. Please contact Nicole Sharpes nmsharpes@fcps.edu.
Please read this document for important information regarding Advanced Academic Programs and continuum of services.
