Early in the school year, teachers usually provide a plan
for communicating with parents (for example, a monthly calendar, weekly letter,
email or app like Class Dojo).
Your child’s teacher might explain this during
an orientation meeting, through a get-acquainted letter, or at open house.
Read
or listen carefully to this information when provided by the teacher. If something is not clear, ask questions.
Find out how you
can get in touch with the teacher at school and when is the best time to
communicate. Also consider asking the teacher the best way to communicate with them. In
return, let them know the best time to contact you and how.
