Dear Families,
Earlier today we learned that one of our students, Mutaz Basaif, had died while
traveling overseas with his family. Mutaz
was a fourth-grade student in Mrs. Walter’s class. Many students had worked
with Mutaz as a classroom buddy and he was certainly well loved by our school
community.
At
this time, Mutaz’s family has not shared the funeral arrangements with the
school.
On
behalf of all members of the school staff, our deepest condolences are with the
family and friends during this difficult time. Mutaz was a child who warmed the
heart of everyone who knew him and he will be missed by us all.
Please
call the school if you would like to talk with one of our mental health
professionals. We all share in the
unfortunate grief of the family. Thank
