Dear CHS Parents and Guardians,
Our school was notified at
approximately 12:23 p.m. today that there was police activity in the surrounding
neighborhood. At that time we went into “Secure the Building”
status. The police concluded their work about 30 minutes later and we
returned to normal operating status.
“Secure the Building” means that
outdoor activities are cancelled, exterior doors are locked and students are to
remain inside. The administrative team, security team, and office personnel
reacted swiftly and appropriately to ensure the safety and security of students
and staff.
I am proud of everybody involved
for the excellent way in which they handled this situation. As always,
students' safety is our most important responsibility.
