Robinson Student Ram Blast, Week of September 4, 2018

STUDENT RAM BLAST

Providing students and parents with important updates and reports of events and happenings in the middle school.

Welcome Back!

Our 7th and 8th grade students had a fun and exciting first week of school! We enjoyed our first Pep Rally and welcomed the class of 2024 to Robinson, traveled to all of our classes, successfully executed our first safety drills, met teachers and made new friends, and ended the week with a special visit from alumnus Craig Grossi, the author of Craig and Fred. That three-day weekend sure was well timed!

As students are settling into their classes, teachers may have shared specific supply lists and requests; however, you may wish to reference the general supply lists for each grade level in the links below.  Additionally, for any parents who were unable to attend the Robinson 101 presentation at the Orientation on August 23, 2018, you will find the link for that resource as well.

Looking forward, we invite you to our Middle School Back-to-School Night on Thursday, September 6, 2018.  We hope to see you then!

Back-To-School-Night (BTSN)

Middle School BTSN is on Thursday, September 6th, 2018

The Ram Mall is open from 6 - 7 p.m. in the gold café and classroom visits begin at 7 p.m.

Attention Parents of current Middle School Algebra 1/Algebra 1 Honors students!!

The MS Math Department is hosting an Algebra in the Middle School information session on Thursday, September 6th from 6:15 – 6:35 PM in the Recital Hall before Back-to-School Night (BTSN). The Algebra teachers would like to share some information with the parents that the short time we see you in our BTSN class time may not allow for all to be covered. If you are unable to attend this session, the presentation will be shared on each teacher’s Blackboard site.

Topics include:

  • The importance of having all stakeholders involved in the educational process – Student, Teacher & Parent/Guardian
  • The importance of having a “Growth Mindset” and the possibility of students hitting the “Math Wall” for the first time.
  • The difference between Algebra 1 and Algebra 1 Honors and that both are high school credit courses.
  • The new digital resource (replaces the textbook) - MathSpace

BTSN ends at 9 p.m.

Parking is limited, so carpooling is highly recommended.
