Temporary PTO Website
Spring Hill Elementary is no longer
using the Student Info HUB. Please visit the temporary website at
https://springhillpto.org.
Through this site, you will be able to
pay your PTO membership dues, contribute to the Fall Fundraiser and purchase
Block Party tickets. Please be patient with us as we populate this temporary
site and work toward moving to a new permanent platform.
Join the PTO!
The Wall Street Journal reports that
parents who participate in the school community have children with better
grades, fewer discipline problems and more successful social
relationships. Plus parents have a
greater understanding of classroom dynamics. More reasons to join the PTO!

President’s Letter
On behalf of the PTO, I would like to
extend a warm welcome to new and returning families to the Spring Hill
community! What an exciting time to be a part of this exceptional school.
One of the most important roles of the
PTO is providing opportunities for our parents and staff to engage with each
other, and I hope you will join us for our upcoming community engagement
events. PTO meetings are a great way to get connected, meet new people and stay
informed. Our first meeting will be held on Friday September 21 from
8:45-10:30 am and will include an introduction of our new Principal, Mrs. Sarah
Aiello. I look forward to seeing lots of familiar faces and meeting many new
families.
On Friday September 7, your entire
family can join us for a school-wide block party with a catered BBQ dinner and
a DJ from 5:30-7:30 pm in the parking lot beside the large playground. This
will be a great opportunity to socialize with other parents, meet your child’s
friends, and take a break from cooking supper.
Tickets are available on the school website.
As Fairfax County’s budget challenges
increase, your support of the PTO is more important now than ever before. The
PTO works to enrich our children’s educational experience by providing the school
with programming and resources that our children otherwise would not receive
through tax dollars. This helps us maintain Spring Hill’s standards of
excellence.
We will vote to approve the budget at
the first PTO meeting on September 21. Thanks to your generous donations last
year, we were able to beautify our large pod with new tables, install hand
dryers in the children’s bathrooms as well as purchasing $25,000 in Math
Workbooks and $32,000 to upgrade our children’s outdated computers. We have already given checks to each teacher
for start-up supplies, contributed $7,500 to the field trip fund for the entire
school. The money raised through our
Fall Fundraiser goes to support the activities listed in the budget, so please
go to the website and make your donation today.
As always, please do not hesitate to
contact me with any questions, comments or concerns about the budget or any
other PTO related matter.
All the best,
Denys King
