Willow Welcome Success

Our first ever Willow Welcome was more than successful - it was magical!  We enjoyed seeing everyone and having the opportunity to share the learning that goes on in our classrooms. Students were able to meet their teachers, embrace friends, and then use their creative and critical thinking skills with our specialists while parents attended an informative session with homeroom teachers. To top it off, our amazing PTA and business partner, Church of the Apostle Angelic (COAA), invited everyone to attend an end-of-the-day carnival with music, food, and games! We hope that it was informative, as well as fun, as we believe all learning should be! Let us know what you thought about Willow Welcome 2018 by taking a moment to answer a few questions

With more than 1,000 registered students at Willow Springs, we want to ensure a safe dismissal for everyone, so beginning this year, parents will be using PickUp Patrol for reporting student attendance and changes in afternoon dismissal routines. You received an email on Friday afternoon from PickUp Patrol; we hope you'll register right away, because the link will expire soon and we’d like you to confirm your child’s regular daily dismissal plan within the app.

We look forward to seeing our students tomorrow!

Sincerely,

Dylan Taylor, Principal

Rashida Green, Assistant Principal

Sara Van Aalst, Assistant Principal

Please report all absences and changes in afternoon dismissal routine for students using PickUp Patrol.

Willow Springs is now using PickUp Patrol to help us ensure a safe dismissal for all our students. PickUp Patrol is accessible from your smartphone or computer. WSES families received an email with registration instructions to set up your account on Friday, August 24. Be sure to register right away, because the link will expire soon and we’d like you to confirm your child’s regular daily dismissal plan within the app.

To report an absence or make a dismissal change, simply log in, select a date, your child, and a dismissal option. Then hit submit and that’s it! Your child's teacher will be notified.

More than 500 parents registered for Pick Up Patrol since Friday.

A Message From Our Superintendent

Welcome back! I am very excited to kick off the 2018-19 school year and hope you are, too! For the first time in over 20 years, FCPS is starting with a fully-funded school budget—one that prioritizes compensating our employees. We will continue to focus on investing in our staff and supporting our students, so that every child is prepared for success in school—and in life. Please watch this short back-to-school message for more about what’s in store. Have a joyful school year! - Dr. Scott Brabrand
