Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! We wanted to share some important dates and information as you get you ready for the first day of school on Tuesday, August 28th.
Brookfield Back To School Event - Mark your calendars! We are so excited for you to join us for this new and exciting event. On Friday, August 24th, we are combining our open house and back to school events for Kindergarten through 6th grade on the same day. Our students will explore their new classrooms and meet their teacher(s), as well as allow our parents to receive a curricular overview and understand student expectations for the school year. Please note, this event takes the place of our traditional evening back to school night.

School Communication - We will send our "News and Notes" on a weekly basis and send additional updates as needed. Additional sources of information throughout the year:

Daily Schedule - Our school hours are 8:10 AM -2:55 PM. Our doors open for students at 7:55 AM. Our main office hours are 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
Transportation and Teacher Assignments - Your child's teacher assignment and will be emailed on Wednesday, August 22. Transportation will email information regrading bus stops by Friday, August 24th.
Tdap Vaccine - Rising 6th Grade Students - A reminder to the rising 6th grade families - Please submit your
child’s Tdap vaccine record. It can be a copy of your child’s
immunization record, or a note on letterhead from your healthcare provider
listing the date, month and year of the most recent Tdap booster.
Please note: Sixth grader students will not be assigned a teacher and cannot begin school on August 28th without documentation of having had the Tdap
booster.
First Day of School - The first day of school is Tuesday, August 28th. Our Kiss ‘n Ride entrance is monitored by adults beginning at 7:50 am each morning, entrances to the building open at 7:55 am. Please do not let your child be tardy. If you are driving your child to school, please plan to arrive at Brookfield no later than 8:05 am. Your children need time to get to their classrooms to unpack, begin morning work, and prepare for their day. School officially begins at 8:10 am when the tardy bell rings.
Visitor Management System - We use a visitor management system in our main office in order to to ensure the safety of our students and staff during the school day. You will need your identification each time you enter the building during school hours.
FCPS Food and Nutrition Services - Breakfast
and lunch are both served at Brookfield each school day. Our Food Service
Manager will be available during our Back To School Event in the cafeteria if you would like
to add money to your child’s lunch account. We provide all students with a free breakfast; lunch cost is $3.25. You can also add money to your students lunch account using www.myschoolbucks.com
