Dear Mason Crest Community,
We hope that you have had a great summer and that you are as
excited as we are for the fast approaching school year. To welcome students
back this year, we will be facilitating a new event, the Mason Crest Community
Walk. On the evening of Tuesday, August 21, Mason Crest teacher classroom
teachers will be making brief visits to all of the homes of the students in
their classes. Completing the trip with a buddy staff member, the teachers will
travel from house to house, greeting our students and families. Each student
will receive a small welcome back gift from the teacher and have a chance to
meet him or her. It is our goal that this visit will
build comfort and familiarity between our students and staff, demonstrating our
commitment to being an active part of our community. The visits will take place
between 5:00p.m. and 7:30p.m. on August 21. Unfortunately, we
cannot provide a more exact time of when you can expect your teacher to arrive.
While the Community Walk will provide our families and staff an opportunity to
get to know each other, the visits will be brief and should not be considered
an alternative to a parent conference. If you are not able to be home for the visit, the gift will be
left on the door.
We look forward to the start of the year and to seeing you on our Community
Walk on August 21.
