Principal's Message


Dear Panther Families, 

Can you believe it is already August 10th? The summer is flying by.  As we have had new families registering, we wanted to send another Paw Print to get the important dates and information out again.  We hope to see many of you on August 23rd for the Open House. Have a wonderful weekend!

Teacher Assignments will be sent via email on Friday, August 17, 2018. Be on the lookout for this exciting email. 


Open House – Please plan to attend our Open House on Thursday, August 23.  At the Open House, you are welcome to visit your child’s new classroom, meet the teacher, and join the PTA! 

The Open House schedule is as follows:

  • 12:30-1:30 Kindergarten Welcome Picnic 
  • 1:30-2:00 Kindergarten Open House 
  • 2:00-3:00 Grades 1-6 Open House 


First Day of School – The first day of school is Tuesday, August 28. Poplar Tree’s school hours are 8:40-am-3:25pm, Monday through Friday. 


Back to School Nights-  Poplar Tree Back to School Nights are Tuesday, September 4 for grades K-2 and Monday, September 17 for grades 3-6. The Back to School Nights are for parents only and are scheduled 6:00-7:30pm.

Tdap Vaccine - 

Rising 6th Graders

A reminder to the rising 6th grade families - Please submit your child’s Tdap vaccine record.  It can be a copy of your child’s immunization record, or a note on letterhead from your healthcare provider listing the date, month and year of the most recent Tdap booster.  

Please note: Sixth graders cannot begin school in August without documentation of having had the Tdap booster.

 TDAP
