9th Grade and New Student Orientation

  • 9th Grade and New Student (Grades 10-12) Orientation will be Thursday, August 23, beginning at 8:10am and concluding at 12pm. 
  • Transportation - While all bus routes will not be running, we want to ensure students who do not have a ride to school that morning can still access Orientation.  As a result, students who need transportation to West Potomac for Orientation can report to the closest elementary school listed below where buses will be picking up students at 7:40am and returning students after Orientation approximately 12:20pm.  
  • Bus Transportation will be available at the following elementary schools: Belle View, Bucknell, Fort Hunt, Groveton, Hollin Meadows, Hybla Valley, Stratford Landing, and Waynewood. 
  • All 10-12th new students should report to the library upon arriving for Orientation.
  • All 9th Graders will report to their Advisory at the start of Orientation (listed as 3rd period on their schedule).  Those students on the StudentVue app can access their 3rd period location beginning 6am the day of Orientation.  3rd period Advisory locations will also be posted the morning of orientation in the main lobby for students who do not have the app. We will have many student leaders in the building to help everyone find their correct location!
  • Orientation will include an opportunity for 9th graders to meet their peer mentor, advisory teacher and go through their class schedule!

Wolverine Welcome 2018

  • Wolverine Welcome 2018 will be Friday August 24 from 4-6:30pm in the Cafeteria. Following Wolverine Welcome we hope you stay and join us for our Opening Football game at 7:00pm vs. Briar Woods.  This is a great opportunity to see our Marching Band, Cheerleaders, Dance Team and Varsity Football team!

What is Wolverine Welcome?  Wolverine Welcome is our annual school year kickoff event where families can pick up a variety of resources including:

  • Have you child’s schedule printed and activate your ParentVue account.  Please note that because of schedules being accessible on ParentVue and StudentVue app we will not be printing all schedules, but anyone who does not have the app, we will print your child’s schedule and assist you in activating your ParentVue account.
  • PTSA Membership – Our PTSA will be available to answer questions and help you complete your 2018-19 membership form!
  • Wolverine Welcome Tailgate – We are finalizing details for our Wolverine Welcome Tailgate which will occur from 4-6:30pm!  Stay tuned for more information!
  • Gym Uniform Purchases -PE uniforms will be available for purchase.
  • The WP Clinic will be open should a parent want to check in with our Clinic or drop of medicine.
  • Food Services will be available in the cafeteria should a parent want to load money on a student account.
