Orientation and Rams Rally Information:
Rocky Run MS staff is looking forward to welcoming all of our
students back to school for the 2018-19 school year. We will be hosting two
excellent programs on August 24, 2018 to help your students get excited and ready
for school. Please read about these programs below.
7th Grade Orientation - August 24, 8-11 AM
7th
grade orientation – Aug. 24, 8:00 –
11:00 AM
All incoming 7th grade students are invited to
attend an orientation program on Friday, August 24, 2018. Bus transportation to and from Rocky Run MS
will be provided from feeder elementary schools. Families may also choose to drive their students and drop them off at RRMS at 7:50 AM. The bus schedule is included below.
So
what is orientation? On August 23rd we expect student schedules to
be visible on SIS Parent Vue. For more
information about obtaining a Parent Vue account, please click HERE.
If you are unable to see your student's schedule, we will have
copies on hand for at the beginning of orientation. Students will follow their schedule, visiting
each classroom for about 10 minutes.
They will meet their teachers, and learn more about Rocky Run MS
including: What is Rock Time? How does lunch work? Where is my locker and
how do I open it? And much, much more.

Rams Rally - August 24, 2-6 PM
During Rams Rally, we welcome
rising 7th grade and returning 8th grade students to
visit Rocky Run. Rams Rally is an open
house format providing opportunities for students to visit the building before
school opens, organize their lockers, walk their schedules, and catch up with
friends. This is not a structured
orientation, and teachers will not be in their classrooms. Students must be accompanied by an adult to attend Rams Rally and may attend in small groups. Student schedules
will be available on line on SIS Student Vue and Parent Vue by August 23. Rams Rally will also include:
- Student schedules available for pick up
- FCPSON computer pick up will be
available for 8th grade students who have completed required forms
to start school. 7th
graders will receive their computers after the first week of school
- PTA membership information and
spirit wear
- PE uniform information and
sizing. Uniform purchase through MySchoolBucks
- Opportunity to
put money on MySchoolbucks for lunch and PE uniforms
- Sign up for After School
activities
- Food available for purchase
Please note that parking
at Rocky Run MS is extremely limited. Walking
to school and carpooling are strongly recommended when possible.
Below is a suggested
schedule for Rams Rally attendance by feeder elementary school. We recognize that
following this schedule may not be possible for everyone and students are
welcome to attend as they are able. We
encourage those who can adhere to this schedule to do so in order to limit
crowds and to promote a positive experience for all:

Renovation News
- New drainage installation and parking lot reconstruction is ongoing.
- Progress continues to be made on the new addition on the exterior of the building. Walls are going up!
- Stage, gym and locker room remodel are continuing.
- Reminder that there is NO field use during construction.
Air Quality: During construction, questions about indoor air quality arise. The air quality inside the building is monitored at least once per month. Please visit the Rocky Run website to review FAQs related to indoor air quality.
