Yearbooks still available! Some students who
pre-ordered yearbooks have not picked them up. Please email jabeach@fcps.edu if you need to check if
your student picked his or hers up. Pre-ordered yearbooks can be picked up by
arrangement in the main office this summer. We still have about 10 copies
for sale, $80 cash. Thanks for your support this year and congratulations
to the yearbook staff on a great product!

AA Boost Camp Summer 2018
WHAT: Advanced Academic Boost Camp is a program designed to assist those students who are taking a College Board Advanced Placement (AP) course in high school for the first time or are enrolled in an Honors 10 class. The goal is to give our Advanced Academic students the necessary skills to be successful in their upper level courses. Reading, note-taking, time management, organization, critical thinking and study skills will be the focus of this camp.
WHEN: There will be four sessions of AA Boost Camp to choose from.

Session 1: Monday, July 30 and Tuesday, July 31 - from 8:00am-10:30am, at Washington Irving MS. This will focus on AP Calculus and Honors Math

Session 2: Monday, July 30 and Tuesday, July 31 - from 11:00am-1:30pm, at Washington Irving MS. This will focus on AP English ( Literature and Language) and English Honors

Session 3: Wednesday, August 1 and Thursday, August 2 - from 8:00am-10:30am, at Washington Irving MS. This will focus on AP/ Honors Sciences

Session 4: Wednesday, August 1 and Thursday, August 2 from 11:00am-1:30pm, at Washington Irving MS. This will focus on AP/ Honors Social Studies
PRICE: FREE!!! This AA Boost camp is free of charge, however registration is necessary. Snacks and supplies will be provided for students who participate.
HOW TO REGISTER: To register, simply click HERE and fill out the online form. Please submit the application as early as possible as registration will close on Friday, July 13, 2018, to ensure that all materials can be ordered to run the program. Applicants after that point will be put on a wait list, and we will we not be able to accept walk-ins. Spartans 101 – For Rising 9th Graders Only
August 15th from 9am – 1pm
Registration Now Open at: Spartans 101
Registration Form
Spartans 101 is a program designed to assist rising ninth
grade students in making the transition to West Springfield HS a successful
one. Topics covered will include: team building, a tour of the building,
school involvement (activities, clubs, athletics), an introduction to Student
Services, study/organizational skills, peer tutoring, and technology at
WSHS. Based on the high demand for this program, you are encouraged to
register early. Please note, due to renovation, the event will be capped at 125
students.
Registration is due by July 23. There is a
registration fee of $35.00, which will include lunch (pizza and salad) and
a Class of 2022 t-shirt.
Please note, transportation will NOT be provided for this
event. Students must be dropped off and picked up at WSHS – Door 1.

Save the Date…Spartan Spree: August 21st from 11 am – 2 pm!
Spartan Spree will be held on Tuesday, August 21st from 11:00am to 2:00pm. At this event, class schedules will be available to students after all required forms are submitted. Additional items, such as spirit wear and athletic passes will be for sale as well. If you are unable to attend Spartan Spree, you will be able to bring your forms to the main office during advertised times later that week or on Monday, August 27th. Girls and Boys Grades K-8th
This
is a 3-5 day dance camp specializing in Hip Hop, Breakdancing, Jazz and Pom
Pom taught by the nationally recognized West Springfield Dance Team. The
campers will learn several different dance routines, perfect dance
technique, watch movies, and play games. On Wednesday and Friday at 2:30
there will be a performance for family and friends.
What
to Bring: Lunch, snack, water bottle, pillow/blanket
for movie time

to Wear: Comfortable clothing, dance shoes or
sneakers.
