Weekly Communication with our Lanier Community

Dear Family Lanier,

As we waved the buses away this afternoon (an annual tradition), I took some time to reflect on this amazing school year.  We have all beamed with pride as our students performed, inside and outside of the classroom, and the nervous and frightened seventh-grade students of nine months earlier left here confident and ready to become the “upper” classmen.  Our proud and wildly enthusiastic eighth-grade students, I am most confident, are ready for the transition to Fairfax.  Rest assured, they are READY!

As a reminder this summer, please encourage your student to keep reading and keep busy.  For those entering high school, this summer is a most critical one, and we can all support all of our forever Eagles by finding opportunities to guide and mentor them!   Thank you for always, always supporting this work.

The bittersweet part of a school year ending are always found in the memories we have made. Remembering sometimes makes us sad for its ending, but so, so happy that we had this chance to touch their lives.

Here is to happy, restful, and safe summer!

For Rising 9th graders,

Cross Country is a fall team sport at Fairfax HS and is open to rising 9th-12th grade guys & girls.  It involves running races through woods and fields for 3 miles or 5 kilometers.  Official team practices run from July 30 – Nov. 10 and informal group runs will take place from Jun 15-Jul 29.  Running over the summer is highly encouraged and we offer a team camp from Aug 6-9.  See our team website to sign-up to receive team notices and learn more about summer activities.  https://tinyurl.com/fhsxcnews
