Greetings Families,
I want to take this final moment to share how very proud
of our students and school I am as the proud principal. Our students, staff and
all of you have worked very hard this year on their academic success and their
character development. We have implemented the Reading Workshop, Math
Workshop, Responsive Classroom including daily class meetings, and an emphasis
on character building with Character Counts. Our school wide achievement data
on the SOL's looks fantastic with over 90% overall in
Reading, Math and Social Studies. Our community engagement committee and PTA
have provided many opportunities for families to engage in our school from picnics,
parent courses, Show What You Know, Courtney Schilling 5k, International
Night, Talent show and much, much more! We know that this work is the most
important work in the world and we could not do it without the partnership and
trust we have from each of our families. I wish you a wonderful summer full of
family, love and laughter and we look forward to another fantastic school year
at Forest Edge.

student reports will be included such as SOL scores, I-Ready progress, and DRA
levels.
We are proud of our SCA winners. We made sure all classes
got to vote yesterday and today. We are proud of the brave students who
took a risk and ran for an office. Next year the parent advisory group will be
dialoguing with school staff around the most equitable and current ways
to promote student leadership for our students and we look forward to moving in
innovative ways around this.
