Dear Lake Anne
Families,
We wanted to send one more message with a couple of final reminders, as we
finish the last week of this school year.
Sixth Grade Promotion and Hat Walk
This year, we
continue our annual tradition of honoring our Sixth Graders at a promotion
ceremony on Thursday evening at 6:30 pm in the gym. On Friday morning, sixth graders will walk
through Lake Anne wearing the hats they have made as their final assignment in
Art Class. The “Hat Walk” will begin at
9:30 am.
Early Dismissal on Friday
Please note that
students will be dismissed at 1:35 pm on Friday.
Yearbooks
We have a limited
number of yearbooks still available, if you would still like to purchase one
for your family. Our wonderful parent
yearbook volunteer, Isadora Guerreiro, will be at school tomorrow, Thursday
afternoon at 3:30 pm with yearbooks for sale for $15, cash only please.
Farewells and Thank-you’s
We want to wish a fond Lake Anne farewell to several staff
members who are leaving us for retirement or other opportunities. We
remain grateful for everything they have done to support our Lake Anne students
and families and wish them all the best. At Lake Anne, we don’t like to
say “good bye” … instead we say “see you soon.”
Susan Scholla will be retiring after 23 years of
teaching in FCPS. Sara Brownson,
Madina Masumi, Lizzie Piecuch, Dulce Gomez-Acosta, and Vanessa Spencer will
be leaving Lake Anne next school year for other opportunities and
adventures. M. Luisa Franco is
leaving us for the next school year, but is planning to return in 2019. Kim
Sigle is leaving Lake Anne to become the Elementary Educational Specialist
for Library and Information Services.
THANK YOU all and see you soon!
Next Year
Throughout the summer, we will be
finalizing class placements and teacher assignments for next school year. If you would like to share information about
your child’s learning needs, learning styles, or important friendships, please
email Mrs. Stewart (jdstewart1@fcps.edu)
by June 22. We are not able to
accommodate requests for specific teachers, however, we value your input and
information you can share about your child’s learning.
