WAKEFIELD FOREST ES Weekly Message

These rising sixth grade students are ready for summer!

Dear Wakefield Forest parents/guardians,

As the year comes to a close, it’s a good time to reflect on all of the successes we’ve collectively achieved. This year we were excited to enhance our school program by adopting The Positivity Project, which has supported character education across the school. We have already begun to feel the reverberations of this program inside and outside of WFES. Our students also enjoyed STEAM each week, as well as electives and Innovation Hour. We plan to continue these initiatives next year. We are all thankful to be a part of a community that embraces Portrait of a Graduate, where we work to develop a well-rounded citizen.

We are looking forward to recognizing the wonderful contributions of our sixth graders at their award ceremony on Thursday and the achievements of our other students on Friday. We’d love to see students in WFES gear or school colors (blue and yellow) on the last day of school, Friday, June 15.

We wish you and your children a restful and relaxing summer break. If you are moving on to new locales this summer, you will be missed.

Sincerely,
Sharyn Prindle
Principal

Medication Pick-up Reminder
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than dismissal time this Friday, June 15. Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded.
It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. If you have any questions, please contact the School Health Aide Dana Wade or Public Health Nurse Jeanine St. Lawrence at 703-503-2310.

Lost and Found
Please encourage your children to check the Lost and Found in the cafeteria if they are missing any items: the students walk by it every day on their way in to lunch!  Also, parents are encouraged to search the Lost and Found themselves when they are here at the school for any reason.  We would really like to see the items returned to their rightful owners!  All unclaimed Lost and Found items will be donated to charity after the last day of school, Friday, June 15.
