Weekly Communication with our Lanier Community

Dear Lanier Family,

The final weeks of school are always jam packed with activities.  On Tuesday, I had the privilege of hearing our band students perform their hearts out, and by perform, I mean complete with theatrics as well!  In my three years at Lanier, I have seen our music students consistently upping the excellence bar, and I know that our choral students will awe audiences on Tuesday night!  On Thursday, our theater students performed in their annual drama showcase.  Our community has much talent and passion to celebrate!

Today, we celebrated our fantastic staff with our annual Hot Diggety Dog celebration.  We have truly had a BANNER year in many, many ways, and it is always fun to take the time to reflect and congratulate them on a phenomenally difficult job well done.  Thank you to the many parents who have thanked a staff member through personal emails and messages this year.

Our community’s biggest celebration was at noon on Thursday, when Fairfax’s Class of 2018 graduated in the field house!  Our staff does get a glimpse of the celebration in the annual senior walk, but it is such a privilege to get to attend this event on behalf of Lanier Middle School.  We are all so, so proud to be part of the Fairfax Pyramid.

Next week, our final week of school, will certainly fly by…and it will start with our eighth-grade dance tonight!  Award ceremonies, team parties, and locker cleanouts (oh MY!) will bring us to the end of an eventful, fast-paced, and memorable 2017-2018 school year.  Please help us finish the year strong by reminding your student(s) that it isn’t over YET!

Wishing you a fantastic weekend!

Erin Lenart
