HERNDON ALL NIGHT GRAD PARTY

for all HHS Class of 2018 Grads

June 12, 11:30PM - 4:30AM

at the Herndon Community Center

Graduation is just around the corner, which means our students will want to celebrate - they’ve earned it and we have a BIG (and safe!) celebration planned just for them.

The HHS All Night Grad Party is June 12, 11:30pm - 4:30am.  Activities include an internationally renowned illusionist, casino, large inflatable games and obstacle courses, airbrush tattoos, photo booth, massages, music, prizes for everyone and LOTS of food.

Prizes are given out all night long, and those who stay for the entire evening have a chance to win GRAND PRIZES. Think flat screen TVs, iPads, gift cards, and so much more!

All HHS graduating seniors should be at this awesome celebration!

Don't wait... get your ticket todaytickets can be purchased on the web site at www.herndonang.org. If you have questions, please e-mail hhsang2018@gmail.com.

Please HELP US SPREAD THE WORD so no senior misses the celebration they have earned!  If your neighbors and your students friends are not on the whos going list (found here - http://www.herndonang.org/who-s-going-.html), please contact them and remind them about this event.  Spread the word to all the seniors on your child’s sports teams and in your clubs. We need everyone’s help to make sure all of our seniors know about this and get to attend.  Have your son/daughter share this on their Twitter, FB, Instagram and Snapchat.  We need your help to get the word out to everyone! Every senior worked hard and deserves this celebration!

SCHEDULE FOR THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

.

.

From the Library:

  • It’s time for your students to clear their library accounts! All library materials should have been returned by Friday, June 1. Students can stop by the library to take care of any overdue fines or charges for lost books. Debts over $3.00 can also be handled online through MySchoolBucks. If you have questions about your student’s account, please email us at hhs_library@fcps.edu.
  • If your student will be returning to Herndon HS in August, and is interested in checking out books to keep over the summer, we will begin summer checkouts on June 7. Students whose accounts are clear are welcome to stock up on books before June 15. These books will be due the first week students return, by August 31.
  • A few ways to keep your family reading this summer: The Great American Read, sponsored by PBS, is a wonderful way for students and families to expand your summer reading lists. Be a part of the nationwide search for America’s favorite novel. Herndon Fortnightly Library also has fun summer programs geared specifically toward high school students. You can find information on one of their special teen activities, the Herndon Teen Library Challenge, here. And finally, AudiobookSYNC is a free summer audiobook program from AudioFile Magazine that gives away two paired audiobook downloads a week. The program is geared toward ages 13 and up. Get the details on the weekly free downloads here, and read with your ears!

      CLINIC UPDATE

Hot off the press!  The Herndon Writing Center proudly announces our first annual college application Bootcamp, which will be held August 14, 15, and 16 from 9:00am-12:00pm at Armstrong Elementary School.  Students will receive individual help with their college essays, college applications, and soliciting their letters of recommendation.  A main goal of camp is that all participants leave with one (or two) final essays that they can use during the application process.  Space will be limited, and we must have 40 students registered to offer this camp.  Tuition is $75.  The contacts for this camp are Kate Hutton, English Teacher, (kghutton@fcps.edu) and Amanda Hudson, Assistant Principal, (aahudson@fcps.edu).  More information on how to register will be forthcoming.  Stay tuned!

      BASKETBALL CAMP

The Herndon High School basketball program is pleased to announce that we are holding our 2018 Summer Basketball Camp at Herndon High School. The camp is a wonderful opportunity for young athletes to learn the game of basketball, receiving instruction from the coaching staff, improve their skills, make long lasting summer memories, and have fun playing the game of basketball. This year the camp is open to rising 10th grade boys and girls. The Herndon coaching staff believes that this is a great opportunity for any young athlete looking to have fun this summer. For more information about the camp please check out our website at https://herndonhs.jumbula.com/#/boys-and-girls-basketball or reach out to Coach Headen at jeheaden@fcps.edu.
