Date Reminders:  The last day of the 2017-18 school year is June 15; students will be dismissed at 2:05pm and our offices will close at 3:15pm.  SEES office hours for the summer will be 9:00am to 1:00pm.  Be sure to note that the first day of school for the 2018-19 school year will be Tuesday, August 28. Giant Bonus Bucks: Thank you to everyone who participated in Giant Bonus Bucks this year! Thanks to your support we received a rewards check for over $1400! Sign-up information for next year will be available when school starts again.

Spring Photos:  Please return payment for pictures or any unwanted pictures to school by Friday, June 8.

Class Building:  Classroom teachers will be meeting soon to build classes for next year.  If you have information about the way your child learns, or qualities in a teacher, that would help your student succeed, please send a note or an email by Friday, June 8 with ‘’class placement’’ as the subject line to Megan Brooks  at mjbrooks@fcps.edu.  While we cannot honor requests for specific teachers, we do consider parents’ input about learning styles.  

FROM OUR PTA

PTA Meeting:  The last PTA meeting for this year will be held on June 7th at 6:30pm.  At this meeting we will be electing the PTA officers for the school year 2018-2019.  The following are the nominations for the PTA Board:

  • President - Daphne Callender
  • Vice President - Wendy Guleyupoglu
  • Secretary - Cissy Saulsgiver
  • Treasurer - Cheryl Baker

Restaurant Night at Papa John's:  Our last restaurant night of the year is June 5 at Papa John's.  Mention 'Springfield' when you call in, order online or eat in, and Springfield Estates will receive 20% of all orders.   

School Supplies:  School supplies can be purchased at www.schooltoolbox.com by following the links to your child’s grade for next year. Orders must be placed by July 1 to qualify for the free ship to school service.  Online orders will be accepted after July 1 but there will be a shipping fee if the order is under $50 and items will then be sent to your home.  If you have any questions, please contact Daphne Callender at mdcallender@verizon.net.

Lost and Found: Please check our lost and found area (in the cafeteria) for any missing items before June 8.  All remaining items will be donated to a local charity.  The PTA is looking for volunteers to help sort and then pack up the lost and found items on June 8 (and probably again on June 15) after school.  If you have availability, please contact Melissa Monoki at melissamonoki@gmail.com.
