Class of 2018 Important Reminders

Class of 2018 Parents and Families,

With only one week to go until graduation, please be aware of the following important senior class dates and events.  We look forward to celebrating with you at George Mason next Friday, June 8!  Contacts for specific events are listed, but please feel free to email me at sjmiller@fcps.edu if you have any questions or concerns.

Senior Dues - Due ASAP

  • $100 
  • Seniors must pay dues by JUNE 1ST

Baccalaureate - Sunday, June 3rd

  • 2-3pm 

Senior Class Trip - Monday, June 4th

  • Kings Dominion (7:00am-5:00pm)
  • Meet in cafeteria at 7am SHARP
  • Bus number assignments are FINAL
  • Breakfast snacks and water bottles will be provided
  • You may bring lunch or money for lunch at the park 

Cap & Gown Distribution - Tuesday, June 5th

  • Cafeteria: 3:15-5:15
  • SENIORS MUST HAVE PAID ALL OBLIGATIONS (DUES, LIBRARY, FINANCE) IN ORDER TO PICK UP CAPS AND GOWNS
  • ONLY YOU OR YOUR PARENT MAY PICK UP YOUR CAP & GOWN. You MAY NOT pick up for a friend unless otherwise arranged with Ms. Miller via email. 


Convocation and Senior Luncheon - Thursday, June 7th

  • Convocation (Auditorium): 9-11am
  • Seniors should arrive by 830am
  •  SENIORS MUST WEAR GRADUATION GOWNS (NO CAPS)
  • Senior Luncheon: 11-12pm (Gym)


Graduation Rehearsal - Thursday, June 7th

  • Graduation Rehearsal (Gym): 12pm-End of the day
  • ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY TO GET YOUR SEAT ASSIGNMENT FOR GRADUATION


Graduation - Friday, June 8th

  • GMU Eagle Bank Arena, 2:00pm
  • Seating: First come, first serve- NO TICKETS REQUIRED
  • Lifetouch will be photographing the event (see attached flyer—also available on blackboard under ‘updates and events’)
  • STUDENT ARRIVAL TIME: 12:45pm SHARP
  • Doors open to families at 1:00pm
  • ABSOLUTELY NO cell phones are allowed by students participating in the graduation ceremony. THIS IS A COUNTY RULE. LEAVE PHONES WITH PARENTS OR IN YOUR CAR. Any phones found on students will be confiscated and will not be available for pick-up until noon on Monday, June 11th.
  • Families/Friends: NO BALLOONS, NOISE MAKERS, OR LARGE SIGNS WILL BE PERMITTED AT GRADUATION. 


All Night Grad - Friday, June 8th

  •  Senior Parents We Need You for All Night Grad Celebration!
  • Have you Purchased your All Night Grad Tickets Yet?
  • Seniors! At ALL NIGHT GRADUATION graduates of the class of 2018 can ride a MECHANICAL BULL, become a HUMAN BOWLING BALL, dance to a LIVE DJ or virtual Dance Revolution, gamble (with fun money) at ROULETTE, TEXAS HOLD’EM, and BLACKJACK, smile for a CARICATURIST, learn their future with a FORTUNE TELLER, play games like Giant Jenga or air hockey into the wee hours of the morning and win GREAT DOOR PRIZES
  • Tickets are on sale for $65.00. Visit https://www.angcwestpotomac.com/  or you can purchase tickets at all senior events (convocation, cap and gown distribution). Last day for ticket sales will be Thursday June 7 at 9:00 PMNo tickets will be sold at the door of All Night Grad. Seniors on free or reduced lunch should contact their counselor for a reduced cost ticket. When purchasing tickets to ANG, you will not receive a physical ticket. Your students name will be placed on a database for entry to Belle Haven CC for the celebration.

 


Purchase a commemorative brick in your senior's name for the Wolverine Green. Orders due June 11

  • Purchasing a brick is an easy way to leave a lasting family legacy on the West Potomac High School campus. Wolverine Green Bricks are available in three sizes—the two largest sizes are designed to be installed in the brick circle and the smallest size is for your home, office or a gift.
