Thinking Toward the Future Week:
Monday, June 4- Career Day/ Dress for Success
* Some classes are still looking for a career day speaker.
Please contact your child’s teacher if you are available.
Students dress for success or in a career day outfit.
Please take into consideration if your child has PE on Mondays and that all
students will have recess on this day when thinking about shoes. All clothing
should be school appropriate!

June 5- College/Post-Secondary Day
-students and staff wear college or post-secondary options
(military, etc.) gear
School staff to have discussions with students throughout
the day on post-secondary options
Wednesday,

School staff to further engage students to think about
their own future
Hobby Day
-Students and staff can show what are their interests are
outside of school/work

June 8- Thinking to the future day
-Students to reflect on personal, class, grade, and school
successes
-Students to write hopes and dreams for next school year;
Students to write letter to next year’s teacher
-Grade level up visits- Kindergarten – 5th grade students
go up to visit next grade level 20-30 minutes; 6th graders go to visit

Los estudiantes deben estar vestidos como si fueran a
trabajar. Por favor recuerde que si su hijo/a tiene PE ese lunes debe usar
zapatos tenis.
Martes 5 de junio -
Universidad/Después del bachillerato
-Los estudiantes deben
usar camisetas de universidades o camisetas de otras carreras después del
bachillerato (militares, etc.)
Los profesores de la
escuela hablaran con los estudiantes de todas las opciones que tienen después
del bachillerato.
Miércoles 6 junio y jueves 7 de junio
Los profesores de la
escuela motivaran a los estudiantes a pensar en su propio futuro.

Summer Lunch Bunch
Almuerzo Durante el Verano
The Summer Lunch Bunch
program will be serving the Springfield area again this summer to provide
children with fresh daily lunches all summer long. Each weekday from 12-1pm
free lunch will be served to children ages 0-18, no questions asked. You can
take part in this program at any of the below five locations:

The Friends of Richard Byrd Library Book Sale
WHERE: Richard Byrd Library, 7250 Commerce St.,
Springfield
WHEN: Thursday, May 31: 3:00 –9:00 pm
Friday, June 1: 10:00 am –6:00 pm
Saturday, June 2: 10:00am –5:00pm
Sunday, June 3: 12:00 –2:00pm BAG SALE!
WHAT: Books, most for $1 and $2or less, plus loads
of CDs, DVDs, and special birthday, Father’s Day, and Graduation offerings for
children and adults.
WHY: Funds raised will pay for our children’s
programs and much, much more!
End of Year Party
The end of year party will
take place on Thursday, June 7 from 6:30-8pm. There will be ice cream and
dancing. Get ready show off your "cool" moves before we break for the
summer!
